Is FamilyBlue an insurance plan?
No. FamilyBlue is a medical discount card brought to you by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida. FamilyBlue entitles you to instant discounts on doctor visits, medical services and procedures, prescription drugs and more. It also gives you access to our 24-hour Nurseline, the FamilyBlue Concierge service and medical bill negotiation on your behalf.
How does FamilyBlue work?
Visit the FamilyBlue Plan section of the website or call 1-800-918-7600 to understand the discounts available, how you can enroll today, see sample savings or check if a doctor or medical provider is participating in the FamilyBlue network.
It's easy to enroll in FamilyBlue! You can complete the easy application online or over the phone - whichever you prefer. Once you receive your membership ID card, show your card at the time you receive service from a participating provider and you’ll receive the special FamilyBlue discount. There are no claims or forms to complete – you receive your discount on the spot.
Will my medical service provider send me a bill?
No. You will receive your discount on the spot and pay for the services provided at the time of service.

Do I need a physical to qualify for FamilyBlue?
No. FamilyBlue is a medical discount plan, so no physicals or disclosures of previous conditions are required.

No, you can still join the FamilyBlue medical discount plan even if you or anyone you wish to include in your plan has previous conditions.
What doctors accept the FamilyBlue card?

Can my family use my FamilyBlue discount card?
Yes. Each FamilyBlue membership card is good for six people per family. This includes extended family as well – parents, grandparents, children, nieces, nephews and in-laws as long as they live with the primary card holder. If your family consists of more than six members and you would like to include them in FamilyBlue, you just need to complete a second application to purchase an additional card.
How does the medical negotiation service operate?
If any single medical incident exceeds $1,500, call FamilyBlue Customer Service at 1-800-918-7600. You will be connected with our Medical Billing Negotiation team. Our team will assist you with negotiating to reduced your bill, search for available government or charity programs to assist in paying your large medical bill and help arrange payment terms for you.
What happens if I misplace my membership ID card and need another one?
Login to the Member section of the website and clilck on the Print My ID Card link to print a temporary ID card for your immediate use.
Then call FamilyBlue Customer Service at 1-800-918-7600 to request a permanent card. Once you’ve called, you should receive a new membership ID card within 7 – 10 business days.
Can I move up from FamilyBlue Plan B to FamilyBlue Plan A?
Yes, it is possible to upgrade your membership from the FamilyBlue Plan B to the Plan A. Simply call 1-800-918-7600 and a FamilyBlue Customer Service Representative will assist you.
One of the dependents I covered with my membership has moved out of the house. How do I replace them with another dependent?

I missed my monthly payment. What happens now?
Your FamilyBlue discount privileges will be suspended until your account is current. You can use a credit card to bring your account into a current status or you may mail a check or money order if paying the entire annual amount. Should I join FamilyBlue if I already have insurance?
It depends on your insurance plan. FamilyBlue can help you lower the out-of-pocket expenses for services (dental, vision, hearing, etc.) that your current plan may not cover. FamilyBlue is not health insurance and many times it may not be used in conjunction with other discounts or insurance.
